The Annamoe Handball Club has been revived as of July of this year and the Association’s committee is at the moment in the process of raising funds for the re-building of the alley. A considerable sum has been raised up to the moment thanks to very generous donors but we are still quite a way from the total needed. The handball alley at Annamoe, we have been reliably informed, is the oldest in Leinster and has quite a bit of local history attached to it, so we want to get it up and running again with the intention of having all types of ball games played there. We would like it to be a fun amenity for the young people and perhaps the not so young in the area. We would appreciate help either in the form of donations of money or building materials. The re-building is starting at the end of September with the partial demolition of the walls and the laying of a completely new floor. It is actually happening so please help us. Donations may be left at our committee room c/o Rose’s Tea Room, Annamoe. Alternatively, you may contact David Sterritt, Chairman, Michael Payne, Secretary or Christy Byrne, Treasurer.
